3 Reasons Why Professional House Cleaning is a Good Investment

Introduction

Hiring a professional cleaning service is one of the best investments you can make for your home. It can save you time and stress! This blog post will discuss three reasons why hiring a professional house cleaning service is so great.

Peace of Mind

If you hire someone to clean your home professionally, you should know why they’re worth every penny. The fact is, cleaning your house properly is a lot of work. It takes time and effort. More importantly, it can be tedious! Not to mention the knowledge it takes to know what products and equipment to use and how to appropriately use them to ensure the safety of your loved ones and your belongings.

The cleaning professionals at Clarkston Cleaning Services, are trained in how best to clean different surfaces, for example, (hardwood floors versus carpeted ones). They also know how much elbow grease goes into each surface type and how best to use various products for different purposes (for example, spot-cleaning fabric furniture versus deep-cleaning rugs). They are also trained about safety precautions when moving around heavy furniture or using chemical products inside your home. This knowledge is invaluable when it comes to keeping you and your loved ones safe at home and providing you with peace of mind.

Free Time

You can use your free time to do things that you enjoy. You could use it for a hobby or for family time. If you have children, you might want to spend some extra time with them or perhaps take them on a trip somewhere fun. If there is something else in mind that will make your life happier and more relaxed, then we believe full-heartedly that you should do that and leave the cleaning to us.

Being able to focus on the important things in life is definitely beneficial. It’s easy to get caught up doing things like cleaning when there are so many other things going on in the world around us. When discussing if hiring a home cleaning service is right for you, putting your family, friends, pets, and most importantly, yourself first might make your decision easier.

Less Stress

Having a cleaner home allows for less stress. Think about how much time you spend cleaning your home or trying to find time to do these things when you could be working on something else. Having someone who does this for you can free up your schedule so that you can focus on other things.

Having a cleaner home also allows for more relaxation in your life. With all of the responsibilities we have nowadays, it’s important to get some rest whenever possible. A messy house can contribute significantly to feelings of stress and anxiety, which can make it unappealing to even be at home. Instead of stressing out over cleaning tasks like dusting or vacuuming every day, let us handle it on your behalf.

Conclusion

We hope this article has helped you understand why professional house cleaning is a good investment. If you need some more information or have any questions, feel free to contact us. We would love to help!

How to Organize Kitchen Cabinets: 5 Simple Steps

Introduction

The kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s where we cook, prepare meals and entertain friends and family. But if you’re like most, your kitchen cabinets are probably a mess! They might be full of old dishes or mismatched plates that never quite fit the aesthetic, junk mail from two years ago, and all sorts of other clutter that makes it hard to find what you’re looking for when you need it.

In this post, we’ll cover 5 simple steps to help organize your kitchen cabinets, so they’re clean and easy to use. Even if you don’t have a lot of space in your home, these tips will help you make better use of every inch!

Empty and clean your cabinets.

  • Take everything out of the cabinets, including any tools you might have stored there.
  • Clean the shelves and drawers with a damp cloth to remove dirt or dust. If you find that your cabinet’s edges are dirty, use a scrubber to clean them (make sure they are dry before putting items back). You should also wipe down the inside and outside of the cabinets with soap and water, so they look fresh again!
  • Make sure nothing is expired or leaking before throwing it away if it is a liquid container like an oil bottle or vinegar bottle; otherwise, toss it into another container so as not to spread germs around your kitchen area unnecessarily!
  • Put new liners on all drawers, so things don’t slip around within their compartments.

Sort through each item.

After you’ve emptied the cabinets, the next step is to sort through each item. How? By category, function (e.g., “utensils”), and size.

If you don’t know what to do with an item, ask yourself how often you use it and how important it is to your daily life (usefulness). You can also sort items by shape or season — for example, if your cabinets are already organized by category, try sorting everything into piles based on shape: bowls near bowls and plates near plates. Similarly, if your cabinets are already organized by purpose, try sorting everything into piles based on the season: soup tureens in winter and salad servers in summer.

Determine your storage needs.

Before you start, ensure you have a good idea of your storage needs. This step is crucial to making sure that you’re buying the right products and setting up your kitchen cabinets in the most efficient way. Here are some things to consider:

  • How much space do I have? Take measurements of your kitchen cabinets and other spaces where you want to store items like plates or pans. If possible, take measurements of adjacent areas like islands or desks where additional storage space could be available. You may find that this extra space can be used more efficiently than the cabinet itself!
  • What will I store in my cabinets? Decide what items need to be stored in each cabinet before shopping for organizing systems (think about how often these items are used). Knowing how much stuff each cabinet needs help narrow down which types of organizers will work best for each area.
Choose the best organizers for your needs.

You have a lot of options when it comes to organizing your kitchen cabinets. And that’s a good thing! You can choose from simple, basic organizers like paper towel holders and drawer organizers to more complicated solutions such as rolling carts or spice racks.

For example, if you have tons of spices and herbs that can’t be stored in the refrigerator or pantry, you might consider buying a spice rack (like this one) for your cabinet door. This way, you’ll always know where everything is and won’t have to search through drawers and baskets whenever you want to use an ingredient.

If there are certain items that tend to fall into their own categories (i.e., baking supplies), try grouping like items together in buckets, so they’re easy to find when needed—and remember: labeling things makes them even easier to locate!

Put everything back neatly.

Once you’ve purged, it’s time to put your kitchen back in order. Here are some dos and don’ts:

  • Do put things back in their original place. You’ll want to know where everything is, so if you’re not entirely sure where that spatula went after reorganizing, just stick it back on the same shelf or in the same drawer.
  • Don’t worry about keeping everything perfectly organized by size and type at this point; simply make sure all of your ingredients are grouped together (in other words, salt should be near pepper). This will help ensure that items aren’t lost and you can find what you need more easily when cooking meals for guests.
Conclusion

And that’s it! You now know how to organize your kitchen cabinets. We hope this article was helpful and you can use some of our tips in your home. It’s important to remember that when organizing space, the first step is always cleaning. Once everything has been removed from its original location, sorting through each item will help determine what needs returning where and what should be thrown away. After sorting through everything, deciding on storage needs will ensure things are put back neatly and help you avoid clutter moving forward. If you don’t have the time or willingness or feel defeated with the first step, reach out to us to Request a Quote! We’d love to discuss our cleaning services and help develop a plan for your home.

How To Make Better Coffee: A Guide To Cleaning Your Coffee Maker

A Guide To Cleaning Your Coffee Maker, A Guide To Cleaning Your Coffee Maker, A Guide To Cleaning Your Coffee Maker

Coffee is a significant part of our lives. It fuels us through the day, gives us that extra boost in the morning, and serves as an essential social lubricant. But, when you have a bad cup of coffee, it can be downright disappointing. There are several factors that contribute to making great-tasting coffee: beans and roast, water temperature and quality, proper brewing time…but did you know that one thing can actually make or break your cup o’ joe? That would be your coffee maker!

The most important step to making quality coffee is keeping your coffee maker CLEAN!

It’s not just about the quality of water or the freshness of beans—a clean machine yields better results than one that is dirty and neglected.

You may have heard that washing your machine every once in a while will improve the taste of its brews, but what does that mean? How often do you need to wash it? And how should you best go about doing so? We at Clarkston Cleaning Services are here to tell you that keeping things as sanitary as possible is key to unlocking great cups of morning joe.

Who doesn’t want coffee with a strong, aromatic flavor each time?

The coffee-making process begins when you add water to your coffee pot. The smell of the water and the aromas of freshly ground beans will make your mouth water as you wait for your first cup of morning brew. If you want to enjoy that same experience every day or even every other day, keeping a clean coffee maker is important so that no odors linger in the machine and no old grounds are left behind. A clean machine also releases heat more efficiently and produces better-tasting coffee than an unclean one would—so if there’s one thing to know when cleaning a brewer, this is it!

A clean coffee pot will be able to brew each time with a strong aromatic flavor that delights its owner’s taste buds without fail.

How to know when it’s time to deep clean your coffee maker!

One of the most important things to know about your coffee maker is when it’s time for a good cleaning.

We have listed 3 signs that indicate when it’s time for a deep clean:

  • The taste and aroma of your brew change dramatically. If your coffee starts tasting weak or bland, even if you haven’t changed any settings or added more water lately then that could be an indication that something isn’t right with the machine itself! This could mean that mineral deposits have built up inside causing damage so it’s probably best not to risk drinking anything until you figure out what’s going on here.
  • You notice dark brown sediment in the bottom of your cup every time you use it (or black). This means there has been buildup along walls where hot steam flows through pipes after brewing finishes. Try emptying out these parts first before doing anything else because this could lead you down another rabbit hole.
  • Your machine makes strange noises like squeaking sounds coming from pumps which indicate potential damage due to too much moisture being trapped inside. When this happens, it means you should probably check the water pump and make sure there aren’t any holes in those pipes so they don’t get clogged with mineral deposits which will eventually cause damage if left unaddressed.
Everything you need for cleaning your coffee maker
  • Baking soda and vinegar are two of the most common ingredients in DIY cleaning solutions because they do a great job at removing stains and odors. You can use either one on its own, or add them together in equal parts as a “soda-vinegar” solution.
  • Why baking soda? Baking soda is an excellent alternative to harsh chemical cleaners because it won’t leave behind any residue or film on surfaces after cleaning them, which allows them to stay look polished longer than they would if they were only cleaned with water alone. This means no more yellowed plastic parts or stained glass carafes!
  • Why Vinegar? White Vinegar is a natural antibacterial, antimicrobial, and anti-fungal product that works like magic on behalf of homeowners in the kitchen. The best part is that it works without damaging the surface area or leaving behind an odor (you can add lemon juice if you want to cover up the vinegar smell). There really isn’t anything white vinegar can’t clean!
  • Dish soap: Dish detergent is an effective grease cutter, which makes it a good choice for getting your coffee maker squeaky clean. Use warm water when adding it to your cleaning solution so that you can avoid any potential damage to the appliance’s internal components.
  • Dish brush: A scrubber isn’t necessary if you’re just using baking soda or vinegar as your main cleaner (since these don’t tend to leave behind any grime), but if you’re using dish soap instead then make sure that you have some kind of brush handy to really get things sparkling! You’ll also want this handy for washing out all those nooks and crannies inside your machine…you know…where all those gross coffee smells live? Yeah! That place!
  • Towel: After you’ve cleaned the machine with whichever method works best, grab yourself some paper towels/rags/cotton balls/whatever else will absorb moisture well enough while still being safe around electronics
Conclusion

We hope that this guide will help you make better coffee at home. We know that cleaning your coffee maker can seem unnecessary, but it does make a big difference in the quality of your brew. It’s also important to remember that using baking soda or vinegar will not affect the taste of your coffee! Sip, sip, hooray!

5 Kitchen Appliances That Could Use A Little TLC

If you’re like me, you probably have a few kitchen appliances that could use some TLC. Maybe it’s a dinged-up toaster that hasn’t been cleaned for over six months. Or a blender that got put in the sink with leftover strawberry smoothie caked on. Whatever the case may be, here are five kitchen appliances that desperately need some attention so they can keep up with your busy lifestyle.

1. Air Fryer

It’s important to note that, over time, the interior of the air fryer can get dirty. And this is bad news for your health: a clogged-up machine means that it won’t be able to circulate hot air properly, which means your food will take longer to cook—and could end up dried out or soggy. One way to combat this issue is by cleaning your air fryer every few months (how often you need to do this depends on how much you use it). You can use baking soda and a damp cloth in order to clean the outside surfaces of your appliance or vinegar and water for its interior parts (you’ll want about 3 parts water and 1 part vinegar.)

2. Toaster

Toasters can be a bit of a pain to clean. The crevices and nooks are too small for most cleaning tools, so you’re basically left with only one option: elbow grease. This method may take some time (and sore muscles), but it’ll also give you the satisfaction of knowing that your toaster will be safe from crumbs and debris for another year or two.

Be sure that it’s unplugged before cleaning and that it has cooled completely before getting started. If you can, bring the unplugged appliance over to the sink or an open trash can for cleaning. No sense in making more of a crumby mess for yourself to clean up!

Use baking soda and water as an abrasive cleaner, or vinegar diluted with water if no baking soda is available at home. Your goal here is not just cleaning off all visible dirt but also scrubbing down inside crevices where dust and crumbs tend to build up over time–so don’t skimp out on this step!

3. Coffee Maker

Your coffee maker (or life saver to some of us) is an essential part of your morning routine. You rely on it to deliver the perfect cup of coffee every time, but what if you could make that cup even better? A clean coffee maker is a happy and healthy coffee maker—and here’s how to do it:

Every few weeks, run vinegar through the machine to clean out any buildup. Simply fill up with water and add two tablespoons of vinegar for every ounce of water in your machine’s reservoir (equal parts water and vinegar). Let stand for 30 minutes. Run this solution through the brewing cycle as normal and follow with 2-3 cycles of fresh water. (It may take a couple extra to remove the vinegar smell).

4. Blender / Food Processor

In addition to being clogged with food particles, blender motors can become dirty from the oils in fruits and vegetables. The solution? A simple rinse with vinegar or water. If your blender has a removable blade assembly, soak it in warm soapy water for an hour before turning it on high speed to grind up any caked-on gunk. Be sure to follow up by rinsing thoroughly under running water and drying the blades before putting them back together again (you don’t want mold spores growing on your tools).

If you find yourself with an especially stubborn mess on your hands—say, because you’ve been using your blender as a food processor—try this trick: Fill half of a large bowl with hot water and mix in some baking soda until it forms a paste; fill the rest of the bowl halfway with vinegar; add 1/2 cup lemon juice and let sit overnight; then pour contents into your dirty appliance’s reservoir using a funnel; turn on high speed for 30 seconds at least three times over two days.

5. Dishwasher

Dishwashers are a common appliance that gets left in the dust. (No pun intended). Start by cleaning the filter! On some models, you’ll find this filter in the back of your dishwasher. If you don’t see one there, check inside or at the bottom of your machine.

Next, you’ll want to clean the bottom of the dishwasher. Sometimes food can get stuck under it and grow mold or mildew if not cleaned regularly. Make sure to clean around door seals with a toothbrush and soap to keep them soft and effective at preventing leaks over time.

Conclusion

Appliances are the unsung heroes of our kitchens. They make our lives easier until they stop working due to a lack of cleaning and maintenance. For example, you might use your coffee maker every morning and forget about it until you have to clean it out one day when it starts to run slow or smell bad (which can be frustrating). The good news is that most appliances are pretty easy to maintain; they just need some TLC once in a while!

How To Remove Stains From Clothes – Summertime Edition

How To Remove Stains From Clothes - Summertime Edition

How To Remove Stains From Clothes – Summertime Edition

How To Remove Stains From Clothes

The summertime in Michigan is known for many things, but the not-so-popular one is all the stains on clothes that come out of prolonged sessions outside. While seeing these as your family rolls in from the day’s events can cause you to groan, do not despair. There are plenty of ways to eliminate these blemishes and make the clothing look brand new.

At Clarkston Cleaning Services, we aim to help you through all of your cleaning turmoils. Therefore, we have created this article to highlight the top options for stain removal. Continue reading to find out how to get those eye sores out of your life for good!

Grass Stains

By far the most common stain you will see over a summer season of hard playing time by the youngsters. Coming in with grass-stained knees is a common occurrence that can cause you to think that the clothing is ruined. However, that is not the case.

To begin, create a solution with two parts water to one part vinegar. Once complete, allow the clothing to soak in the mixture for at least 15 minutes. As it is submerged, you can lightly swipe at the stain with a cloth to try to wipe away the stain. After the time is up, wash it with your favorite detergent, and voila!

As another option, you can pre-treat the stain with detergent as soon as the stain is noticed. This action will help the stain rise and create a better opportunity for removal. You could also use a soft brush versus a cloth to attempt to get all the stain particles to the surface for washing.

Sweat

Summertime in Michigan means sweat, especially as the days become longer and more humid in July and August. With this comes an ample amount of sweat that can easily stain clothing. Although it can feel hopeless to remove these, it’s anything but.

First, attempt the same process as you would with grass stains. Create the solution of two parts water to one part vinegar. Allow it to soak for 15 minutes while dabbing at stains. Continue to wash with detergent.

If that doesn’t work, you can try sprinkling baking soda on the stains and allow it to sit for at least 20 minutes. You can also use this method in conjunction with the water and vinegar solution. Air drying after being washed in the bright sunlight can help the stain disappear.

Sunscreen

A necessary evil, applying sunscreen will help protect your skin, but the stains to clothing that come as a result can feel like the death of you. There is no reason to fret, however! To begin, turn the clothing inside out and run the clothing under cold water. This will help to push the stain to the surface.

Then, make simple dish soap and warm water solution, blotting the solution onto the clothing from the outside in. Rinse the shirt out with hot water and launder per usual. If the stain is stubborn, you can use the baking soda approach as you did for the sweat stain above.

Conclusion

While figuring out how to remove stains from clothes during the summertime can seem daunting, it’s not as complex as you might think. Continue visiting our Clarkston Cleaning Services website for more cleaning tips!

How To Clean A Grill Before Your Next Cookout

Owning a grill is a luxury that many people have, whether renting or owning an apartment or home. However, this privilege comes with a responsibility that can quickly get away from you. When you purchase a grill, you have to make time to maintain it and routinely clean it from the inside out.

The problem often lies in that many don’t know how to clean a grill appropriately. While scraping off the grates between uses is straightforward and standard, you should also take the time to implement other steps during your regular summer cleaning.

Identify Which Grill Type You Have

With the ever-changing technology, there are many different grills on the market to choose from when purchasing. Between propane, natural gas, charcoal, and infrared, each style has its own set of requirements for cleaning.

While there are a set of common steps that can be utilized with any grill, knowing the specific needs of your device is helpful. You can often find these details in your owner’s manual or online.

Clean The Grates

In between uses, it is wise to take a few moments (especially while the equipment is still warm) to scrape the grates of your grill with a wire brush. This step allows any leftover food to detach from the area.

However, especially before a cookout, you will want to immerse the grates (when cool) in soapy water and thoroughly clean them. Performing this action helps remove troublesome residue and create a clean slate for cooking.

Empty the Body

Underneath the grates is where one places charcoal when using that type of grill. However, in other models, the grill body can start to see a build-up of debris and food particles. After a few grilling sessions, it is essential to thoroughly clean the body and rid the area of any unwanted materials.

It is critical to accomplish this task before packing your grill away for the season. Doing so will help to avoid any mold or unnecessary buildup of residue. The job is also essential to complete throughout the summer months to make the end-of-season cleaning more manageable and provide a more sanitary cooking experience.

Don’t Forget the Exterior

The outside of your grill can attract many different elements, including bugs, dust, and random air particles. Taking a few extra minutes to wipe down the outside and clean the handles and dials that adorn the front will add extra shine and sparkle to your outside living space.

You can use a stainless steel spray or just a simple combination of soap and water to achieve this. The more you wipe down your grill, the less likely you will have a buildup of unwanted materials on the outside.

In Summary

Taking on the ownership of a grill isn’t all fun and games. Having one comes with a set of responsibilities, including the cleaning and maintenance of the equipment. If you are looking to bring on assistance for Cleaning Services, don’t hesitate to reach out to Clarkston Cleaning today!

5 DIY Steps To Clean Your Deck For Summer

5 DIY Steps To Clean Your Deck For Summer

5 DIY Steps To Clean Your Deck For Summer

Clean Your Deck For Summer

While the staff at Clarkston Cleaning doesn’t offer deck cleaning as a service, we know the value of a clean patio. Because of that, we want to share some tips with you on how to achieve a sparkling deck that everyone in Michigan will envy.

There are several steps to ensure a proper summer cleaning of your outdoor living space. Follow along as we outline five DIY steps for learning how to clean a deck efficiently.

Give It a Thorough Inspection

One of the most critical elements of preparing your deck for the summer season is to take the time to walk around the space and check for any areas that require repair. Whether this is a loose screw, split board, or (depending on the age of your deck) wear and tear from insects, it is vital to stay on top of any necessary maintenance.

Get Rid of Unnecessary Items

During the months when your deck isn’t front and center with entertaining and daily living, the space tends to collect objects that don’t necessarily belong. Whether it’s random winter toys or leaves and branches leftover from fall, it is common to uncover various items once the snow fades away.

Take the time to find a more suitable home for the items that don’t belong and clear off any debris or leaves. This step will help you to achieve a better deck clean overall.

Clean the Space

There are two approaches that you can take to cleaning your outdoor living space. Some homeowners prefer to rent or purchase a power washer to get the job done quickly. Others, primarily those with smaller deck space, turn to a mild detergent and scrub brush.

Regardless of which route you choose, be sure to thoroughly rinse the area after cleaning to remove any soap residue and avoid slippery conditions.

Check For Touch Up’s

After your deck area is sparkling clean from the previous step, take inventory of all the parts that could benefit from a new coat of stain. Taking the time to do this as needed helps you avoid a more extended job several seasons later.

Once you have identified the problem areas, sand them down and apply a coat of stain. It may take several layers to achieve the correct look, so don’t close up shop after just one or two swipes.

Clean the Furniture

Before you reload all of the patio furniture, decorations, and grill back onto your newly cleaned deck, it is critical to clean them to their own level of sparkling. After taking the time to make your outdoor living space sparkle, the last thing you want is to bring dirty furniture and accessories into the mix!

Whether spraying them down with the hose or handwashing them with soap and water, take the time to make them shine before returning them to their home.

In Summary

We care about those we serve, and while our Cleaning Services don’t include deck cleaning, we know how important having a clean and relaxing space is to our clients. Because of that, we wanted to share our top five steps for a complete DIY deck clean.

Summer Cleaning Tips For Every Homeowner

Summer Cleaning Tips For Every Homeowner

Summer Cleaning Tips For Every Homeowner

Summer Cleaning Tips For Every Homeowner

If there is ever a season where it feels like you are living outdoors just as much as you are indoors, summer is it. With that comes the dirt and grass of the outdoors, making their way inside at all times. Keeping up with this mess can get overwhelming, but there are easy ways to navigate the debris and weather changes that come with the summer months.

To help you in this endeavor, the staff at Clarkston Cleaning Services has come up with the top house cleaning tips for summertime. Introducing these into your daily or weekly regimen will help keep the mess under control more than before.

Screen Doors

Using screen doors allows us to let the nice weather and breezes into the house without inviting a host of insects to visit. However, these screens can take a beating in the process. Summer has allergens, bugs, dirt, and everything else flying in the air, and many of these get caught in the screens.

Taking the time once a week to clean these areas with warm soapy water will help keep residue from building up and allow cleaner air to filter through the screens.

Windows

Just like our screens, windows take a beating during the summer months. Whether it’s from the elements, pollen, or just our children pressing their faces up to see what’s happening inside, our windows have seen better days.

Also, like the screen doors, taking the time once a week to clean the outside and inside of the windows will help limit the amount of dirt and bugs on the panes. Not only will your windows look better, but the summer cleaning will allow more adequate sunlight into your home.

Floors

The traipsing in and out of the house during the hottest months of the year can give our floors a beating. Not only is dirt brought in, but everything on the bottom of shoes or bare feet also comes along. Our floors quickly become home to all sorts of outside elements that we would prefer to remain outdoors.

Sweeping and mopping daily can seem tedious but will significantly impact your home. If you suffer from allergies, you will notice a reduction in your symptoms. Additionally, eliminating the particles from the floor will decrease stains on your rugs and furniture.

Counters

With warm weather comes a surplus of ants. They thrive in areas with leftover food and messes. When children are home more during summer break, the food consumed increases, and the kitchen is messy.

Out of all places in the kitchen, making sure that the counters are continually cleaned and food particles removed is of the highest importance. Following that, taking the time to clean the sink and garbage disposal is vital. Remember that food rots more quickly in hot conditions, so leaving remnants behind can lead to foul smells and mold.

Conclusion

Summer is a time for having fun, relaxing, and making memories with loved ones. Cleaning is the furthest from your mind. However, implementing these critical elements into your daily and weekly routines will help you have a clean home and fun experiences. Clarkston Cleaning Services is here to help; get an instant quote in less than two minutes!

When you want to do your house cleaning yourself, you have to find a slot in your schedule to squeeze it in, but you also have to do it, no matter how tired or preoccupied you are. If you are prone to procrastination, chances are cleaning will never make it past the crunch point. And if you do stick to your cleaning schedule, how much can you really clean when you don’t have the energy?

Focus on more important things 5 Reasons To Hire A Maid Service

Even if house cleaning is not your priority, you probably like having your home clean. Delegating the cleaning to professional maids means you can focus on what really matters to you. Unload some of your duties so that you can be more productive and present in the areas of life that need you 100% – be it your work, family, or something else.

Have it all  5

The day is not long enough and the capacities of the human body are not large enough for you to do everything you want. You love cleaning, but you also love cooking, reading, having coffee with friends, playing with kids, jogging with your dog, and watching TV – the list never ends. Until we can replicate ourselves to be in two places at the same time, give some serious thought to hiring maids to take over your house cleaning on a regular basis or just when you need recharging your super batteries.

Has it been cleaned properly?

Can you crack on dust, grime, stains, and mess better than a professional? Professional cleaners have the know-how, equipment, and experience that the majority of people don’t. But, ok, let’s say you’re among the few who can clean the house like a pro – do you have the time and energy to clean like a boss?

Enjoy Time with your kids

Parenting is in itself a full-time job with no breaks or holidays. When you don’t have cleaning on your to-do list, you can give more of yourself to your kids. Do you want to help them with their schoolwork? Do you want to take up a hobby with them or teach them some sport? Get a maid to take care of the mess in the home and you can be there for your children or just enjoy some laid-back time with them.

Have pets and a clean home

Pets enrich our lives in so many ways. If only they could enrich our home with less fur covering the furniture and fewer hair puffs rolling around the corners.

Top 3 Reasons To Hire A Move-In Cleaning Service

Top 3 Reasons To Hire A Move In Cleaning Service

Moving is a time-consuming process with many different components that need to be accounted for during an important time. Arriving at your new place and seeing that several areas need a proper cleaning adds another level of responsibility when you’re stretched thin.

To ease any extra demands, consider bringing a move-in cleaning service on board. Here at Clarkston Cleaning, we perform this often for those around Clarkston, MI. Here are the top three benefits of taking the step.

Worry-Free

Moving can be overwhelming and stressful. Let the professionals ease your worries – we are reliable and fully insured! With such a significant focus on packing up years of memories and prized possessions, completing paperwork, and finalizing logistics, you can easily outsource the cleaning to make time for other more critical tasks.

Take a look at your list of to-do’s that you have left to accomplish throughout the moving process. Our professional cleaning services can check off several of those items, giving you a bit of breathing space during this hectic time!

Save Time

When you hire a cleaning company, you save yourself valuable time that you could spend unpacking and enjoying your new space. Trying to clean all the rooms of your new place appropriately is time-intensive and utilizes a great deal of energy – the energy you don’t have an abundance of during this life change!

Instead of spending those first few days in a state of frustration and stress, bring on a move in cleaning service to make those days memorable and exciting. You’ll find that having a bit of wiggle room in your schedule will help you process the many emotions you’re going through and save energy for the fun parts of the move, like decorating and setting up your new rooms!

Deep Clean

At Clarkston Cleaning, our staff is adequately trained to provide a thorough cleaning of your home, including the surface areas that most people don’t even think about. With everything going on in the days leading up to your move and after, it can be hard to carve out the appropriate time needed to get a deep clean of your new space.

At times, not having the ability to perform this task ahead of time can cause you to feel a sense of discomfort in your home. Walking into a clean slate that is sanitized and ready for your items can be exactly what you need to be able to instantly relax and enjoy your new place called home.

In Summary

Moving is no easy feat. There are a lot of different elements that comprise the process, each with its own set of tasks and responsibilities. While this is a lot to handle, there are avenues that make it easier to tackle.

One of those routes is hiring a move-in cleaning service, such as the one we offer at Clarkston Cleaning. If you are interested in exploring more, give us a call to find out about our services and get a quote for cleaning a new house before moving in.

How To Organize A Messy Garage For Spring

Spring cleaning brings a sense of renewal to your home. Getting rid of items that are no longer needed, cleaning the nooks and crannies, and refreshing your interior is often a breath of fresh air. That is until you get to the garage.

In what is often the most forgotten area for organization and cleaning, your garage can quickly become a catch-all for the odds and ends that don’t belong elsewhere. This article will tell you how to organize a messy garage to get the same renewed feeling both inside and outside of your home.

Group Like Items

As we mentioned above, your garage can quickly become an area where homeless items go to live. Because of this, you will find that you have a large variety of trinkets and tools sprinkled throughout the space.

One of our top garage organization tips is to put all items with a common purpose together in one place. Therefore, if you have different types of paint brushes around, be sure to put them all together to know exactly where to go when you need one. Likewise, any outdoor toys that you have for the children should be in one area that is easy to access.

Go Vertical

Many people are afraid to store anything at a height above their heads. However, there is a lot of valuable real estate when you choose to store items that aren’t frequently used in higher-up spaces. Additionally, there are many usable storage solutions you can purchase that are specifically made for vertical storage needs.

As one of our garage organizing ideas, take seasonal decorations and place them on shelves that attach to the rafters of your garage. When the time comes that you need to gather these items from that area, a simple folding ladder can help you to retrieve them.

Create Zones

Once you have grouped all similar items and placed them in storage bins, you should label them and assign a zone for them to reside. What is a zone? This term is used to describe a specific area devoted to a particular type of product. With this process, you will find all varieties of tools in one zone and all outside toys in another.

Having zones helps you know exactly where to look when you are searching for something in particular. While grouping like items achieves this to an extent, if you have tools in one space and nails and screws across the garage, it can be chaotic trying to locate everything you need for a project.

In Summary

Spring cleaning can be an enjoyable time, especially with the result that comes with the process. However, taking your home organization to the garage can quickly dampen anyone’s positive mood with trying to figure out how to organize a messy garage.

If you are interested in getting assistance in your organizational goals, we can help you establish and execute a plan here at Clarkston Cleaning Services. Reach out to us today to learn about the different services we offer and get a quote for your needs.

Grads and Dads

Seniors and Fathers

Seniors and fathers, otherwise known, this time of year, as Grads and Dads. We’re pleased as punch that we will be able to celebrate them this year! We thought we’d share some ideas on how to make their day special.

The Graduates

If you have family or friends graduating this year, whether from high school or college, how would you like to show them how proud you are? Some folks might want to throw big parties (maybe still a no-no at this time) or perhaps have a nice dinner out with close friends. While not as restricted as last year, it’s best to do some research ahead of time, just in case.

It’s true, the best gifts are personal. If you don’t know the grad well, ask someone who does. Teens especially can be vague or uncertain about their future plans so, asking the right questions can give you a whole bunch of ideas and might look like this:

Where’s a place to eat that you’d like to try but haven’t yet been able to?

  • Get a gift card for that place or another similar eatery that has good ratings.
  • Or just a gift card to their already favorite hangout.
  • A cookbook for that kind of cuisine or food preference.

Do you have a field of study you’re interested in?

  • Are there books on that topic or maybe textbooks for college classes they would like?
  • Is there a set of tools they may need or want to explore in this field?

What are your plans for the summer?

  • If they are moving, maybe they need some basic home supplies for a new apartment.
  • If they are traveling, perhaps a new suitcase or travel gear.
  • Cash is always the right color and size

Do they need help with something else they wouldn’t feel comfortable asking for?

  • Are they saving for a car or repair?
  • Are mom and dad strapped and can’t help?
  • Do they need help finding appropriate work?
  • Are they moving out of the house and need rent/deposit money?
  • Do you have a useful skill or knowledge that would help them?

Dear Old Dad

Unlike young people, dads are more settled in their ways and generally easier to buy for. Even if your dad is gruff and grumpy, there’s almost always a soft spot or two you can hone in on for a great Father’s Day gift. Most dads will not ask for anything…many can go out and buy what they need for themselves. Instead, sleuth out ideas by observation or listening to what he mainly talks about.

Does he collect something or have a hobby?

  • Stamps, bugs, car parts? See what he doesn’t have and find it, if possible.
  • Books on his favorite subject.
  • Does he like craft beer or like hot sauce? Get him a subscription or kit to putter around with!

Is there someone he hasn’t seen in a while?

  • Is it possible to arrange a reunion for them?
  • Look up some military or school buddies or family members he’d like to see again.

Is there a favorite place he hasn’t been to for a long time?

  • Take a road trip with dad.
  • Get a wall map made of his hometown.

Dads love to be ‘needed’.

  • Ask him to help you with a repair of an odd job, then take him to lunch.
  • Ask him to teach you something he knows how to do. Change a tire? Barbequing? Gardening?
  • Write him a love letter.
  • Have him tell you stories of his youth and really listen. You might see dad in a new light!

Whether you want to plan a grand fete or just something close and personal, it’s a busy time of year! Now that spring has finally sprung, some help around the house will make everyone happy campers. We want to tick one more thing off that to-do list for you!
